Computer Programming
General Information
- History: The program was established in 1998 at Iğdır Vocational School and started education with 40 students in the 1998-1999 academic year. In the 2002-2003 academic year, the program, which changed its name as Computer Technology and Programming within the scope of METEB, continues its education with the name of Computer Programming since 2009-2010 academic year. As of the 2010-2011 academic year, IKMEP is followed by the curriculum. As of 2013-2014 Academic Year, after the departure of technical programs from Iğdır Vocational School, our program continues its education and training within Iğdır Vocational School of Technical Sciences.
- Program Outcomes: Students who complete this 2-year program have an Associate Degree in Computer Programming. Ders Bilgi Paketi (Course Information Package) includes program çıktıların (program outcomes) which a graduate will have. Graduates win the title of computer programmer, computer technician.
- Competency: Students who complete this 2-year program have an Associate Degree in Computer Programming. Graduates win the title of computer programmer, computer technician. As stated in the associate and undergraduate regulations of Iğdır University, the average course they take from other courses, except for the Higher Education Council courses, should be at least 2.0 (Two). For more detailed information, it is necessary to apply to the regulation. It is necessary to successfully complete all the courses available in the program and 30 working days internships (to total 120 ECTS).
- The knowledge, skills and competencies earned by the students after graduation. These outputs should be determined in line with the training objectives of the department and comply with the sector needs.
- Educationa Language and Type: The language of instruction of the program is Turkish and the type of education is formal teaching. International students can also enroll in the program. Some of the courses are offered online via öğrenme yönetim sistemi(learning management system).
- Infrastructure Facilities: In the department of our university, there are faculty members who have proven their scientific competencies in these departments in Turkey and international fields. 80er square meters 2 computer labs with 30 computers, wired and wireless equipment are at the service of program students.

Double Major / Minor Programs
Double Major Program: It gives students the opportunity to receive a bachelor's degree in another department where they are interested in as well as their original department. In this program, students can complete the courses of two different departments and have a diploma in both fields.
Minor Program: It allows the student to take a certain number of courses in another area he is interested in outside of the actual department. Students who complete the minor program are given an official certificate in this field, but this does not mean a second undergraduate degree.

Exchange Programs
It gives students the opportunity to study at another university at home or abroad for a certain period of time. Through these programs, students have the opportunity to recognize different cultures, improve foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi programs.

Aim and Goals of the Program: The computer programming department aims to educate individuals who specialize in software development, system analysis and computer technologies in our technology-based world. This department enables students to gain the skills of developing algorithms, using programming languages and producing software projects. The main goal is to educate innovative and productive programmers who can meet the labor needs in the industry.
The Current Situation and Future of the Program: Computer Programming is usually a 2-year associate degree program. By combining educational content, theory and practice, it gives students competencies in the following subjects:
Basic Programming: Programming languages such as Microsoft https://c/#.NET and Darts frameworks such as .NET and Flutter.
Web Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and frameworks.
Database Management: Microsoft SQL, MySQL and object-based database design.
Algorithm and Data Structures: The basis of problem solving and coding skills.
System Analysis and Design: Software lifecycle and project management.
Research Methods and Techniques: Researching, preparing and presenting reports
Internship programs allow students to gain experience in the industry and make it easier for them to find jobs after graduation.

Program Introduction Presentation
The Computer Programming program within the Technical Sciences Vocational School of Iğdır University has been providing education since the 1998-1999 academic year. The program aims to provide quality education to its students with computer laboratories equipped in accordance with the technological requirements of the age and with its experienced academic staff.
Laboratory and Technological Facilities: The program has modern computer laboratories equipped with 30 computers each and providing wired and wireless internet access.
Curriculum: Students take courses in various areas such as basic programming, network management, database management and computer-aided design. They also have the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice with projects and practical training.
Project-Oriented Education: Students have the opportunity to exhibit the projects they have developed throughout the year and be rewarded with jury evaluation. For example, in an organized IT exhibition, students presented 33 different projects; these included mobile applications, web and desktop projects.
Career Opportunities: Career Opportunities: Computer Programming graduates can find the opportunity to work in positions such as software developers, system analysts, network administrators and database specialists in the public and private sectors. The program aims to provide students with skills such as analytical thinking, teamwork and professional ethics.
